Carmarthenshire Branch

The Carmarthenshire branch of CAMRA covers the geographical area of Carmarthenshire / Sir Gaerfyrddin plus an area around the Teifi Valley in South West Wales.

The branch was formed in 1994 due to a donation from Rory Gowland and the Swansea branch CAMRA of £120. The original members came from Carmarthen, Llandeilo and students from Trinity College, Carmarthen. The first chairman being Nick Day of Llandeilo.

Our neighbouring CAMRA branches are Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Swansea.

Our branch cares passionately about good taste, good beer and the pubs which serve it. We meet regularly in the hostelries of historic Carmarthen town, but also undertake fact-finding visits(!) to other parts of the county — seeking out the pubs, places and people that contribute so much to our quality of life and local character. We pride ourselves on local knowledge, but new members will always bring with them new ideas and very probably, tips about villages and inns which we haven’t yet found! So, sign up to CAMRA and join our merry band — and do your bit to ensure that we keep our brews and bars!

The branch is the organiser of the annual Carmarthenshire Beer & Cider festival, held at the start of October it is now in its 29th year.

The branch committee is made up of the following people;

  • Vice Chair: Adrian Mogg
