Nominations open for CAMRA’s Pub Design Awards

Has your local had a stunning makeover, or has an old building near you been given a new life as a pub? The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) would love to hear about it.

Nominations are now open for CAMRA’s Pub Design Awards, run with Historic England to celebrate the very best pub architecture across the UK. First introduced in 1983, the awards recognise high standards of refurbishment and conservation, brand-new pubs and buildings converted to pub use.

There are five categories: Conversion to Pub Use, Historic England Conservation, New Build, Refurbishment and Community Local. One of this year’s winners was St Peter’s Tavern in Liverpool, which sits inside a church dating from 1788.

Anyone can make a nomination, whether pub owners, tenants, architects, CAMRA members or regulars, and it’s free to enter. To qualify, the work must have been completed between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026, and the licensee should know about and approve the entry. Judges will visit nominated pubs, with the awards ceremony planned for June 2027.

Nominations close on 18 November 2026. If a Carmarthenshire pub springs to mind, put it forward at https://camra.org.uk/awards/pub-design?selected_year=2026
